Winter Preparation Tips!

We're well into fall, and winter is just around the corner.  Our region has already experienced more rainfall than usual in the months of October and November.

Take some time now to prepare.  Taking these simple steps today, may save you from problems tomorrow.

  1. Update your disaster plan and refresh your disaster kit.  Make sure everything is up-to-date.
  2. Keep any storm drains located n front of your property cleared of leaves and debris.  This can minimize the frequency and severity of urban floods.
  3. If you live in an area prone to flooding:
    • Stock up on sandbags and sand early.  (Many hardware stores carry these items.)
    • Move your valuables and important keepsakes to higher shelves.
